The Smoky Mountains have long been blessed with the scenic autumn colors that embrace the foothill cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and neighboring towns each year. This year we have had an especially cooler summer with more abundant rains, making conditions ideal for an especially colorful fall season. The annual transformation into a sea of brilliant colors has already begun its hint of what’s soon to come.
