What’s Cookin’ Wednesday – Elvira’s Cafe

Their story

Elvira arrived in East Tennessee in the summer of 2001 with a group of exchange students from Russia. She quickly fell in love with the Smoky Mountains, its people, heritage, and traditions. After a brief return to the homeland, Elvira came back to make Wears Valley her permanent home. She worked hard to build a successful career in tourism running a barbeque restaurant and a tubing business in Townsend, TN.

Elvira’s passion for food sparked an idea to build a unique eatery that offers traditional Southern fixings with a touch of Russian flavor. She broke ground on Elvira’s Cafe in the spring of 2012. And today, almost a decade later, Elvira operates a successful women-owned business built around strong team culture and exceptional customer service.

From savory buckwheat crepes and classic biscuits and gravy to perfectly prepared steaks and juicy burgers, Elvira’s menu will satisfy even the most fastidious eater as locally sourced ingredients and farm-fresh food make all the difference. You will feel welcomed from the moment you walk in and guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face looking forward to your next visit.

Give us a try and we know you will be impressed!

our take

The Elvira Café is awesome but is more of a breakfast/lunch place. It is only open for dinner Friday and Saturday nights. They are closed on Sundays
