Moonshine Ridge

Moonshine Ridge is located on Wears Valley Road.  It is a rather large building with beautiful landscaping.  The cafe is to the left as you enter the porch area.  The cafe just opened back up again on August 23, 2016.

When you enter Moonshine Ridge, you will find the country store section to the right which includes many items to browse and explore such as home decor items, jewelry, t-shirts etc.  To the left of the entrance way is the grocery market section of Moonshine Ridge.  They have free smaples set out in front of the items that are for sale including a large selection of various salsas, dips, chips, relishes, pickles, jams, jellies, butters, BBQ sauces, and pickled vegetables. Look for items with the name brand of Tennessee’s Best, which is supposed to be a line of products made locally in the Great Smoky Mountains area.  In the center section of Moonshine Ridge to the left of the check out tables, you will see Aunt Tipsy’s fudge “shop” and more free samples if you ask.

Tennessee Disc Golf, Bugs and Brains

Very excited to hear there is disk golf courses around.

SlinginPlastic

It’s been a lil while since my last post. I haven’t much of great importance to pass along, but a couple things–maybe not worthy of posts of their own– for tonight:

I disc golfed Tennessee for the first time about a week back. With my family I played The Claytons in Alcoa, TN, Sept. 4. Unfortunately, because I was with family, most not used to 18 holes, elevation, terrain, bugs and heat, I didn’t get to play even nine of those beautiful holes. What we did play was very nice. Challenging and picturesque.

A couple days later– with most of the family busy doing the tourist strip in Gatlinburg– I played Mills Park, a local course to Gatlinburgers. I left my wife in the car, told her I’d be not too much more than an hour, and went out on my merry way. On hole 2, I joined up…

Pigeon Forge Deli

A true deli that makes it’s own bread.  Everything is quality from the service to the food.  I got the Chub and my friend got the Reuben.  She said it was the best Reuben she ever had.  The full chub is probably too much for most people to eat.  I have a huge appetite and regretted eating it all.

The Pigeon Forge Deli is about 1 block from main highway on Wears Valley Road in small shopping center. In corner out of view so look for signs.    Image result for pigeon forge deli

It is on East Wears Valley Road on the side of the Parkway that has Dollywood and the Island.

The Escape Game – Pigeon Forge

If you like to do puzzles and are up for a challenge I would highly recomThe Escape Game - Pigeon Forge, TN, United Statesmend this game.  Groups all work together to figure out the clues.  The staff is very friendly and helpful.  Don’t be afraid to ask them questions during the game too.  You may be paired with other groups if you have a small group.  Make your reservations in advanced and early.  If you don’t want to be with a lot of other people, perhaps doing an early escape room would work.

There are times you have to think out of the box.  Don’t be shy, every recommendation should be considered.  Leave no rock unturned.
