I have seen signs for this. But, have not made it here yet.

Not a Model

Driving through the touristy towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, it is easy to get sucked into all the t-shirt shops, weird museums and themed restaurants.  But if you make it out of the madness with only a few cheap souvenirs, you’ll be more then pleased when you reach the Ogle Gem Mine and Rock Shop. 


The shop is drowning in wood carvings, gem stones, homey knick knacks galore.  I personally loved the stones and the landlocked surfer from Cali who I am assuming is the store owner, was extremely knowledgable about each and every piece. I picked up some Amethyst, Quartz and Geodes.

If you didn’t find any stones that you felt would cleanse your ora (sucks to suck) then stop by their mining center. Thirty bucks can get you a bucket to mine through with the whole family. And don’t think you’ll get just a few stones. During…
